As part of our vision of service, GC&T provides detailed inspection services, which aim to comprise the entirety of the project site development.
During the construction of roadways, GC&T:

Observes stripping of topsoil and the removal of any soft material observed during proof rolling of the roadway subgrade.

Proof rolls the existing subgrades with a loaded dump truck to identify unstable areas prior to the placement of fill.

| • |
Tests the compaction of fill material within the limits of right-way established in the field, with proper construction stakeout by a licensed surveyor. |

Tests the compaction of base stone, curb/gutter subbase stone and the paving according to VDOT C.Q.C criteria. |

During the construction of Building Pads (only applicable to fill Pads), GC&T:

Observe stripping of topsoil, removal of any deleterious materials, and undercut of any unsuitable (plastic and organic) soils.

Observe the proof rolling of the sub-grade with a loaded dump truck to determine the suitability of in-place soils to accept controlled fill.
|

Identify unstable areas prior to the placement of fill. |

Test the compaction of fill material placed within offset limits of the building pads, established in the field with proper construction stakeout based on the house grading plans at the time of site grading as provided by the Client. |

During the excavation of Retaining Walls:
• Observe the stripping of topsoil and the removal
of any soft material.
• Test the footing bearing capacity.
• Observe the construction of all site retaining walls. |
