Description |
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) is constructing a 23-mile extension of the existing Metrorail system, which will be operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority from East Falls Church to Washington Dulles International Airport west to Ashburn. The extension will serve Tysons Corner, Virginia's largest employment center, and the Reston-Herndon area, the state's second largest employment center. And, it will provide a direct ride from Dulles International Airport to downtown Washington. |

Project Highlights |
GC&T
provided the following services for the project: (i)
Construction Materials Testing and Inspection services for
the
utility relocation of Phase I of the Dulles Corridor Metro
Rail
project. Our scope of field services includes
backfill
testing for utilities such as stormwater, sanitary, water, natural gas,
electrical and fiber optic, concrete testing and inspection, and
structural steel inspection for horizontally drilled steel casings for
utility crossings. (ii)
Full
service laboratory testing and material verification for Dulles Transit
Partners Quality Control (QC) oversight. |
