The Cancer Center at Lake Manassas, Prince William County, VA

 

Description

The Cancer Center at Lake Manassas is a 20,000 square-foot center built on 3 acres in an accessible location near the intersection of U.S. 29 (Lee Highway) and Lake Manassas Drive. This project is a joint effort between Prince William Hospital and Fauquier Hospital. The facility has a linear accelerator with IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy), a CT scanner, multiple exam rooms, physician offices, clinical support space, nutrition area and consultation rooms. Construction on the $11 million facility began in early 2005, and opened in February 2007.

Project Highlights

GC&T provided a full array of services for the project including:

 

(i)                 Geotechnical Engineering Consultation Services;

 

(ii)               Construction Materials Testing and Inspection services that included earthwork, reinforcing steel, concrete placement, post-tensioning concrete and masonry;

 

(iii)       Performed testing and inspection in accordance with project specifications and Prince William County Special Inspection program.
