Description

This 7-story Best Western Hotel is located on Mudd Tavern Road just off Interstate I-95.   

Project Highlights

GC&T provided a full array of services for the project including:

 

(i)            Subsurface Exploration and Geotechnical Report that included 14 drilled soil test borings to depths up to 60 feet below existing grades;

 

(ii)            Recommended a deep foundation system consisting of drilled piers (caissons) extending to bedrock.  This was due to the heavy loading associated with the hotel building and very soft natural soils encountered across the site;

 

      (iii)         Geotechnical recommendations for the suitability of onsite soils, existing man-
                   placed fill, earthwork specifications including suitable structural fill material
                   specifications and compaction testing requirements, slab-on-grade subgrade
                   preparation, and asphalt pavement areas.
